Overview
Minecraft is already a world kids love—but what if they could change the game with their own code? In this Focus Class, students learn to control Minecraft using simple coding tools built right into the game. Starting with drag-and-drop Blocks, kids create instant results—like building walls, spawning animals, and launching fireworks. Then, with one click, they toggle to see the Python code behind it.
Over 8 weeks, students will gain confidence by making small tweaks in Python—changing a number to make a taller tower, editing a word to swap a mob, or writing a short function to create a “magic tool.” Each session fits into a single class, with every activity designed to be fun, fast, and rewarding.
Parents love this program because it introduces real coding concepts—sequence, loops, functions, and simple if/then rules—without overwhelming kids. Students love it because every week feels like playtime in Minecraft, with code making the magic happen.
By the end, students will proudly show off their own mini “mod,” knowing they’ve taken their first steps into real coding while having a blast inside Minecraft.
Who It's For
Recommended for ages 10–14. Students should be comfortable using a computer and familiar with basic Minecraft gameplay. No prior coding experience is required—this class is designed for beginners and makes it easy to move from drag-and-drop blocks into simple Python code.
