Overview

In the Master Level (Level 7), students learn how to use AI as a coding partner — debugging, explaining, and improving programs just like real-world engineers do. In this Grandmaster Level, they take the next step by not only using AI, but also building an AI product from the ground up. Students create Voices of History — an AI-powered bot that brings legendary figures from the past to life. Imagine holding a conversation with Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Sir Isaac Newton, Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart, Martin Luther King Jr., Leonardo da Vinci, or Cleopatra. Students program their bot to “think and speak” like these icons, blending advanced coding, artificial intelligence, and hands-on electronics engineering into one exciting project.

Each AI bot is built on a microcontroller platform, giving students direct control over both code and circuits. Kids add a microphone and speaker for natural voice conversations, while a breadboard with a push button, multiple LEDs, and a piezo buzzer provides a physical interface. Along the way, they also learn what an API (Application Programming Interface) is and how to implement it in Python, giving them real-world experience in connecting their code to external AI services. To complete the project, students design and 3D print a custom housing, learning how to plan specifications and transform their prototype into a finished product they can proudly display.

The technical foundation of this level is a complete AI pipeline: Whisper converts voice into text, GPT models power reasoning and bring historical personalities to life, and Text-to-Speech (TTS) generates natural spoken replies. Students continue to use AI copilots to help refine their Python code, but they also learn to apply creativity, judgment, and problem-solving to shape their AI into something safe, engaging, and educational.

By the end of this level, students will have engineered a fully functioning Voices of History AI bot that blends software, microcontroller-based electronics, prototyping, and 3D design into a one-of-a-kind product. More than just a coding project, it’s preparation for the future of technology, showing kids how embracing AI — not avoiding it — equips them with the creativity, technical skills, and confidence to thrive in tomorrow’s world of coding.

Key Concepts

  • Artificial Intelligence Pipeline: Whisper for speech-to-text, GPT models for reasoning, and TTS for spoken replies.

  • Python Programming: Writing and debugging Python code while using AI as a coding peer.

  • APIs (Application Programming Interfaces): Understanding what an API is and how to implement it to connect Python code with external AI services.

  • Electronics & Breadboarding: Building circuits with a push button, multiple LEDs, and a piezo buzzer.

  • Hardware/Software Integration: Combining microcontroller I/O with AI-driven software.

  • 3D Design & Fabrication: Planning specifications and 3D-printing a custom housing for the AI bot.

  • Product Thinking: Turning code, hardware, and design into a finished interactive device.

Soft Skills

  • Creative Design of AI Personalities

  • Problem-Solving and Debugging with AI Assistance

  • Critical Thinking in Blending Hardware and Software

  • Innovation Through AI Product Development
