Overview
Game Makers is an inspiring week where students design, code, and launch their own retro-style video games using MakeCode Arcade. Campers create pixel-art characters, build tilemap levels, and learn how movement, collisions, scoring, and lives make games fun and challenging. As they advance, students add enemies, hazards, power-ups, and polished effects like animations and sound. Each project grows through testing and refinement, helping campers understand real game design principles. On Friday, every student debuts their finished game at the Arcade Showcase, supported throughout by a low 1:7 instructor ratio.
